Oh Canada!

My very first trip out of the country was Canada.  It was wonderful.  So similar, yet very different than home.  I'm glad to have been able to travel around and see the places I did: Niagara Falls, Guelph, Toronto, and Ottawa.  It's only a shame it whizzed by so fast.  Hope to see more next year...

Part One: Niagara Falls

Part Two: Guelph

Guelph is a smaller city west of Toronto.  It has quiet streets and lovely older houses.  We stayed in a fantastic B&B here, called the London House, where we met an older couple from Australia, a couple from California, and a lady from Edmonton, Alberta.  Very interesting conversation.

Part Three: Toronto

Toronto has the look of New York, but comes with a much more relaxed pace.  Bike lanes are found everywhere through the city, and bikes can be rented in a similar fashion to renting a DVD from Redbox.  So much to see, hard to do in only two days...

~Ontario's Provincial Parliament Building~

We unplanningly found ourselves on a tour through the Parliament Building, which was actually very enlightening.  As we left, we got to hear a children's choir sing Oh Canada on the staircase...

~Scarborough Bluffs~

Unfortunately, we couldn't get to the bottom to look up at the bluffs, but the windy, rainy hilltops were still beautiful.

Part Four: Ottawa

Five hours northeast of Toronto, Ottawa is a very beautiful capital city.  One day was simply too short, I was disappointed that I couldn't spend more time at Gatineau Park, which is across the river in Quebec Province.

We stayed at the Swiss Hotel, a quirky little place that is run by a man and woman from Switzerland.

Part Five: Back Home

On the way home, we took our time and drove around Cody's old stomping grounds in Potter County.
